So it was just about a year ago that the Ritz in Paris re-opened after a $225 million renovation. It’s wonderful to see that the landmark hotel has upgraded to meet the new millennium, especially with it legendary past spanning art, culture, literary greats and in one of the best cities on the planet. The NY Times magazine did a little one pager on them last year which is fun to read, but they also had an excellent quote to mark the work done and perhaps the work that was not needed: while time and technology march on, history is one luxury that can never be replaced.
Well said. While it’s a little chilly right now, maybe not such a bad time to plan a wonderful French vacation and fall in love with Paris all over again.
